Worship at a Glance ------------------- Sundays - 8 and 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) ------------- Wednesday (Chapel Service) 9:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist and Healing Service ------ Worship at Good Shepherd The Book of Common Prayer (1979) together with the Hymnal (1982) and supplemental liturgical material provide the cornerstone of our worship at Good Shepherd. The Holy Eucharist – At 8 a.m. the service follows the traditional Rite 1 service from the Book of Common Prayer. The service is without music except for the period between Advent and Easter when communion and closing hymns are sung. The 10 a.m. service is Rite 2 with a full choir taking part in the service. At both services the ministry of the laity is of great importance. Weekday Service – The Holy Eucharist is also celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.in the chapel. The service uses a modified Rite 2 format and includes prayers for healing with the laying on of hands Special Services – Throughout the liturgical year services also take place to mark major feast days and seasons in the life of the church. Good Shepherd welcomes all those seeking a deeper knowledge of God's Love in the world. All baptized persons, regardless of denomination, are welcome to receive communion. |
