| The Church of The Good Shepherd is a
community of Christians from all walks of life gathered together
and responding to God's call to go forth into the world, that
his word may be made known to all people. In doing so we proclaim
and celebrate the Good News of Christ's love and forgiveness,
which reconciles all people to God and one another.
The Episcopal Church Women - Every baptized woman in the church
is an Episcopal Church Woman. The purpose of the E.C.W. is to
assist the women of the church to carry on Christ's work of reconciliation,
mission, and ministry in the community, the nation, and the world,
and to take their place in the life, governance, and worship of
the church. The E.C.W. of Good Shepherd holds general meetings
on a quarterly basis and its members are actively involved in
the outreach ministry of the parish.
Daughters of The King - The St. Ann's Chapter of the Daughters
of the King at Good Shepherd was reorganized in 2000. The Daughters
of the King is an order for women of the Episcopal Church dedicated
to a lifelong program of prayer, service and personal evangelism.
Every daughter undertakes a rule of life, incorporating the Rule
of Prayer and the Rule of Service as outlined by the national
chapter.
The Good Shepherd Men’s club provides an opportunity for
the men of the parish to meet for prayer and fellowship on a monthly
basis. In addition to providing service ministry at Good Shepherd,
they are responsible for the Tape Ministry of Good Shepherd. This
ministry provides copies of our Sunday services to the shut-ins
of the parish on a regular basis. Volunteers from the Men’s
Club also provide and serve meals once a month at the Charlotte
Homeless Coalition Shelter.
Tuesday Parish Dinner Programs- This weekly series provides an
opportunity for community building, fellowship and education.
Throughout the year, on Tuesdays, dinner is provided at 6 p.m.
for a minimal donation. A program or event follows each dinner.
Programs are structured around the liturgical seasons of the church.
In late July and August our Summer Movie Madness program provides
a fun break from the long summer heat.
