Meet The Rector Father Roy Tuff:

Welcome to The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Punta Gorda, Florida. We hope you will make us your Church home. Our Rector, since June 2010, The Rev. Roy Tuff, brings years of experience in church, school, and business settings to the Good Shepherd community. He and wife, Maria (who teaches at Good Shepherd School) have three grown children.

Father Roy's family moved from MN to FL with the family newspaper business in 1988. His love of sacred choral music brought them to Trinity by the Cove in Naples Florida in 1994. He entered the Diocese of Southwest Florida's discernment process for ordination in 1997, earned a B.A. from Florida Gulf Coast University in May of 2000, and received his Masters of Divinity from The School of Theology at the University of the South in May 2003.

Prior to coming to Good Shepherd, he served as Chaplain at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School in Bradenton, assisted at Christ Church, Bradenton where he was ordained a priest in 2003, and has served in many parishes throughout the Diocese as supply clergy.

Meet The Rev. Deacon Jane Y. Kelly:

Born and raised in Youngstown, Deacon Jane graduated from The Rayen High School. She married Ronald W. Kelly in July of 1967. Ronald died March 2002. They had no children. In October of 1965 she started working for Packard Electric a division of General Motors, and retired from there September of 1997 and sold their home and moved to Hatteras, North Carolina.

In July of 1999 they bought their home in Port Charlotte, Florida. When they settled in, she checked the phone book for the nearest Episcopal Church and found St. James and started to attend and had their records transferred there. She has been Jr. Warden, Clerk of the Vestry, served several terms on vestry, Director of Education, Director of Acolytes, Lay Eucharistic Minister and Visitor, on two search committees, a member of the St. James mission cleaning team, a member of the Evangelism group, two Alpha Groups and was on the committee from St. James, North Port and Englewood to try to establish an Alpha group in Rotunda, lead Bible studies. She is currently a member of Cursillo, a member of the Dominican Mission group, On the Green team of the Dioceses, a Facilitator of Fresh start, a member of Daughter's of the King, and a member of The International Order of St Luke the Physician's Healing.

She began Diocesan Deaconate classes in October 2002 and studied under the direction of Fr. Cesar Olivero. She was ordained a Deacon on June 6, 2009 and served at St. James until Dec. 5, 2010. Her "new home" is now Good Shepherd, Punta Gorda under the direction of Father Roy Tuff.
